The 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) was celebrated at Matoshri Ayurved College, Dhanore, Yeola, District Nashik, under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” As a part of the nationwide activities announced by the Ministry of AYUSH, more than 100 students and staff members of the college actively participated in the Guinness World Record Attempt Online Yoga Session organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga on 14th June 2026. Participants registered individually through the prescribed process, attended the online session, and received participation certificates.
On 21st June 2026 , the main Yoga Day programme was organized at 9:00 AM in the Seminar Hall of the college. A total of 156 participants, including teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students, enthusiastically participated in the celebration.
The programme commenced with the Yoga Anthem, followed by Dhanvantari Sthavan and Deep Prajwalan. Thereafter, the Principal Madam addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being, particularly for healthy ageing.
Following the inaugural session, all participants took a pledge to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives and to promote a healthy lifestyle through regular yoga practice. A yoga-themed skit was presented by the girl students, highlighting the significance and benefits of yoga in everyday life.
The practical yoga session began with warm-up exercises, followed by various standing and sitting yogasanas performed under proper guidance. The session concluded with the practice of Pranayama and relaxation techniques.
As a part of the IDY celebrations, a Slogan Competition based on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” was also organized. Students from different colleges participated enthusiastically, and the winners were announced on 21st June 2026 during the Yoga Day programme.
In recognition of the successful organization of yoga sangam event the institution received the Yoga Sangam Patra Certificate from the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
The event was conducted successfully in a positive, disciplined, and enthusiastic atmosphere. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks.
