Programme Details
Matoshri Ayurved College, Dhanore, Nashik, organized Anti-Ragging Day and Anti-Ragging Week from 12 August to 18 August 2026, in accordance with the guidelines of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik and the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.
The primary objective of the programme was to create a safe, secure, friendly and fear-free academic environment for all students and to spread awareness about the harmful effects and legal consequences of ragging.
Inauguration & Guidance
The Anti-Ragging Week was inaugurated by Dr. Jyotee Badave, Principal, Matoshri Ayurved College. In her address, she reiterated the college’s Zero Tolerance Policy towards ragging and assured students of a safe and supportive campus environment.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Zaheer Choudhari and Dr. Devendra Bahiram. Police Inspector Shri Sandeep Mandlik provided guidance regarding anti-ragging laws, legal provisions and the consequences of ragging, while Prof. Rajesh Bedmutha guided students on positive behaviour, counselling, friendship and maintaining healthy relationships with fellow students.
Activities Conducted
Various awareness and student engagement activities were organized during the week, including:
* Slogan Competition
* Essay Writing Competition
* Poster Making Competition
* Legal Awareness & Counselling Workshop
* Anti-Ragging Short Film and Documentary Screening
Students participated enthusiastically in the competitions, and the winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes.
Legal Awareness & Counselling
During the legal awareness session, Police Inspector Shri Sandeep Mandlik explained the anti-ragging laws, judicial provisions and legal consequences associated with ragging. Prof. Rajesh Bedmutha encouraged students to develop a spirit of friendship, mutual respect and a welcoming attitude towards newly admitted students.
Anti-ragging short films and documentaries available through the official UGC anti-ragging resources were also screened for students and faculty members to strengthen awareness and understanding of the issue.
Conclusion
The Anti-Ragging Week concluded with a collective anti-ragging pledge taken by students, faculty members and staff. The programme successfully promoted awareness, mutual respect, discipline and a strong commitment towards maintaining a ragging-free and safe educational environment at Matoshri Ayurved College.
